Here’s a peek into how Achievement First does back to school! Over these last few days, our families showed up ready to have a great time and celebrate the start of a new school year together.
From face painting, balloon animals, and a live DJ at Legacy Elementary in Queens, to bouncy houses, delicious food, and family fun at Bridgeport Elementary in Connecticut, to games, dancing, and school spirit at Amistad Elementary in New Haven, our communities came together to kick off the new school year with love and excitement.
Here’s to another fantastic school year for all of our students and staff, filled with learning, laughter, growth, and unforgettable memories!
The first day of school at AF Bushwick Elementary was full of smiles, hugs, and excitement! We can’t wait to see all our students grow this year. There’s still time to enroll! Join our community: achievementfirst.org/apply
Welcome back, AF families! From hugs and high-fives to big goals and bright smiles, we’re kicking off the 25–26 school year full of love, joy, and purpose. Here’s to an amazing year ahead.
History made in Rhode Island! AF Providence High’s first graduating class took the stage on Decision Day this past May and declared their future paths. From the first day of school to the first graduating class, they built their school community and have made their dreams a reality. Watch the video to see a glimpse into this milestone moment.
As we turn the page to a new school year, we pause to celebrate an incredible milestone for the Class of 2025 - graduation! We’re thrilled to introduce three incredible leaders to the Achievement First community!
Amy D’Angelo in Connecticut Kristin Damo in New York Tom McDermott in Rhode Island
As our new Regional Executive Directors, Amy, Kristin, and Tom will play a critical role in driving school success across our network. They will oversee the K-12 journey — or as we’re committed to at AF, supporting the K-16 journey — in each region, working closely with principals, regional superintendents, and community members to ensure every student receives an excellent education and every school thrives.
This is a major milestone in our work to deepen local leadership and bring decision-making even closer to the communities we serve. These new roles reflect our commitment to stronger connections with our students, families, and communities, and to ensuring our schools reflect the unique strengths, voices, and needs of each region.
Please join us in welcoming Amy, Kristin, and Tom, and in celebrating this exciting step toward a more community-centered future for Achievement First!
At AF Brownsville Elementary, love and learning go hand in hand. Our students are valued and supported every single day, because when children feel safe and seen, they soar.
