Achievement First Achievement First

3 states. 5 cities. 34 schools.
1 strong team.

Achievement First operates a network of 34 public charter schools in New Haven, Bridgeport and Hartford, CT, Brooklyn, NY, and Providence, Rhode Island. In the 2017-18 academic year, we are serving 12,500 students in grades K to 12. In our schools, you’ll find some of the best teaching and learning in the country.

Every day, our students are solving for x and shattering stereotypes, winning debate tournaments and football games and shining as first-generation college students. They are constantly learning and improving and so are we. We are strong but not satisfied, and we won’t stop until all children have access to the high-quality education they need and deserve.

  • In New York

Every AF school’s eighth-grade class performed in the top 3% of New York schools in math, outperforming wealthy communities including Scarsdale and Larchmont.

  • In Rhode Island

Achievement First Providence was named a 2017 Commended School, putting the school in the top 7% of all Rhode Island schools. As the only commended school serving majority Latino, Black and low-income students and requiring no exams for entrance, it is proving what is possible.
