Happy Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! Throughout May—and all year—we celebrate the vibrant cultures, traditions, and accomplishments of AANHPI communities. From art to activism, your contributions enrich our society. Let’s embrace diversity, promote inclusivity, and honor the voices and stories of AANHPI individuals everywhere.
Earlier this month, 100+ charter school families, students, and advocates from across the country met in Washington, DC, engaging in three days of impactful activism and solidarity to represent our children and community. Achievement First’s external relations team members Jillian Fain and Nakia Hall, AF families, and other charter schools joined together to address critical issues like charter school funding, gun safety, and mental health, reaffirming our commitment to providing top-tier education and supporting students. With over a hundred meetings with legislators and aides, it was a pivotal moment to champion charter schools and make our voices heard.
In the coming weeks, stay tuned for more on this important day and how you can advocate for our students and even attend Hill Day with us next year!
