In June, the Achievement First Board of Directors unanimously voted on a resolution that ensures we take concrete steps to be the anti-racist school system our scholars and families deserve. Since then, we have conducted an extensive listening tour and embarked on a summerlong journey of deep engagement with our Achievement First community, including 23 staff and family town halls focused on reopening, 52 staff and leader leading for racial equity listening sessions, and seven alumni town halls. Perhaps most importantly, we are focused on changing the way we operate—with more truth, reconciliation, humanity, accountability, and deeper engagement with all members of the Achievement First community. Our first-round commitments outline the immediate actions we're going to take. View Achievement First’s Commitments to Lead for Racial Equity.
