Many seniors, like Queen, are determining their next steps, and AF has been there to support them every step of the way. Last week, students from @amistadhighwolves and @afhartfordhigh visited their elected officials for Student Day at the Capitol in Hartford, CT. The day began with a scavenger hunt at the Museum of Connecticut History and a private tour of Connecticut`s State Capitol building. After the tour, students were excited to visit with Senator Doug McCrory, Speaker of the Connecticut House of Representatives Matt Ritter, and there was an unplanned drop-in from Majority Leader of the Connecticut House of Representatives Jason Rojas. We’re thrilled that our scholars had an opportunity to meet with the representatives and see what civic engagement is about!
