Katie McPollom is the principal of Elm City College Prep Middle. Prior to this role, Mrs. McPollom was on the founding team of AF University Prep High School in Brooklyn where, over the course of five years, she held roles as academic dean, dean of school culture, dean of special services, and twice served as interim principal. Before joining Achievement First, she served as the director of education for an anti-trafficking non-profit in Mumbai, India and a program director with Teach For America, St. Louis. Mrs. McPollom began her career in education as a high school French teacher and volleyball coach at Sumner High School in St. Louis, MO. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in French from Indiana University, where she played varsity volleyball. Mrs. McPollom holds a master’s degree in secondary education administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a master’s degree in race, ethnicity, and post-colonial theory from the London School of Economics.
