Nicole Gugliuzza is the principal of Achievement First Iluminar Elementary School. In addition to being named a Distinguished Teacher and serving as the dean of special services since 2015, Nicole has served in a wide range of leadership roles at the school, including academic dean, dean of student experience, and interim principal. Her leadership skills have been integral to the sustained success of AF Iluminar as an exemplar school on the AF Report Card for five consecutive years and as a National Inclusion Spotlight School by the Relay Graduate School of Education. Nicole has a passion for fighting for racial, social, and educational equity. She earned her Bachelors degree from SUNY Fredonia in Childhood Inclusive Education, and earned her Master’s degree from Canisius College in Advanced Special Education. Nicole also completed the National Principal Fellowship Program from the RELAY School of Education.
