When Donisha first came to Achievement First four years ago, she felt like “the quiet kid.” She had just moved to the United States from the Caribbean, and though she would do all of her work and get the correct answers, she felt shy to share out in class. No more. Here, she’s developed her confidence. Now, she’s always sharing her thinking, especially in math class, where she loves doing geometric constructions. What’s next? She wants to pursue studies in math, medicine, or another area of interest she hasn’t yet discovered.
