Our @afapollo_es scholars lit up the room in celebration of Latinx Heritage Month! Dressed in beautiful traditional outfits, they honored their pride and heritage with joy and confidence. Their vibrant attire is a reflection of the rich cultural tapestry that makes our AF community so special.
From book fairs to back-to-school nights, to field trips and winning volleyball games, these last few weeks of September have been full of striving for excellence and choosing joy across AF! Our students are learning, leading, and thriving in their classrooms, teams, and communities. We are so proud of the brilliance and joy they bring each day.
Here’s to more moments of growth, pride, and togetherness this fall.

Achievement First proudly serves thousands of students across Brooklyn and Queens—and we’re raising our voices to ensure that all NYC families and students have access to the great schools they deserve.
As our CEO Lisa Margosian shared with @chalkbeatorg this week: "We need to lift up our heads and make sure people are aware of what we’re doing.”
That’s why this Thursday, September 18, AF will join public charter schools and families from across the city at Cadman Plaza for the March for Excellence. Together, we’ll cross the Brooklyn Bridge to City Hall to celebrate our impact and stand united for the 150,000 charter students in NYC whose voices and futures matter.
