Alicia Harper is the principal of Achievement First North Brooklyn Prep Elementary School. Before serving as principal, Ms. Harper worked in various leadership roles at Achievement First. First, she served as the K-2 principal-in-residence at Achievement First Brownsville Middle and led the team to the top of the network in reading and math. Then Ms. Harper served as the fourth-grade principal-in-residence at Achievement First Aspire Middle while coaching the Special Services team and balancing work with the network on K-1 Math. Ms. Harper began her teaching career with the NYC Teaching Fellows before serving as a school leader at Uncommon Schools and Success Academy. Before joining Achievement First, she was an adjunct professor for the Touro Graduate School of Education. Ms. Harper earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in psychological counseling, and a Master of Education from Columbia University. In her spare time, Ms. Harper enjoys exploring new activities with her three boys and fiancé, traveling, and reading a great book on a beach.
