School Leader

  • Jessica McDonald

    Jessica McDonald

In baseball, a “five-tool” player excels in every facet of the game—hitting for average and power, running, fielding, and throwing. At Achievement First Apollo Elementary School, Jessica McDonald embodies the leadership equivalent of this rare talent. Since joining the school in 2013, Ms. McDonald has brought a unique blend of skills to her role, proving herself a transformative force in the community.

Ms. McDonald’s journey began as a dedicated teacher, where her deep content knowledge and instructional expertise earned her the prestigious title of Master Teacher. Her commitment to academic excellence didn’t stop there; she became the academic dean for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades, where her leadership contributed to significant improvements in both math and reading. Later, as Interim Principal, Ms. McDonald’s ability to foster a strong school culture and create a welcoming environment made a lasting impact on students, staff, and families alike.

Ms. McDonald is known for going above and beyond, whether diving into operations, advocating for special services, or leading with empathy and strength. No task is too big or too small if it benefits the students. Her relentless drive for academic success and her leadership versatility position her to lead Apollo Elementary to even greater heights.
