Katelyn Mike is the principal of Achievement First Iluminar Middle School. Katelyn began her career teaching at a clinical day treatment school in Connecticut, as a Middle School Special Education Teacher. In 2018, she joined the Achievement First team, working as the 4th grade Special Education Teacher for Achievement First Iluminar Elementary for two years. In 2020, she joined the Achievement First Iluminar Middle School Team as the founding Dean of Special Services, a role she held for five years before stepping in first as Interim, then permanent Principal in 2024. Katelyn is committed to inclusive education & building a school that meets the individualized needs of all students.
Katelyn received her bachelor’s degree in child development & education from the University of Saint Joseph, along with two master’s degrees from Western Governor’s University, one in special education & the other in curriculum & instruction.
