Achievement First Hartford Summit Middle School is a public charter school located in Hartford, CT. Serving students in 5th through 8th grade, our teachers are dedicated to instilling a passion for learning and showing a pathway for success in high school and beyond.
Jessica Alhasnawi is Principal of Hartford Summit Middle School. Jess brings a decade of experience within Achievement First, including four years as an Academic Dean and most recently serving as Interim Principal in the 2025-2026 school year.
Throughout her tenure, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to instructional excellence and ensuring all scholars are supported to achieve at high levels. Under her leadership, Hartford Summit Middle School reduced chronic absenteeism for scholars with IEPs by more than 9%, reflecting her unwavering focus on equity and student engagement.
Jess has also prioritized creating meaningful opportunities beyond the classroom. In 2025–2026, both the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams earned championship titles, reflecting her belief in the role of extracurricular programs in building school culture, pride, and community. She looks forward to continuing to lead the school into its next chapter.
