  Angela Martinez

  Angie Martinez is the Founding Principal of Achievement First Envision Middle School. Angie brings over seven years of experience at Achievement First and currently serves as Interim Principal leading Providence Middle School. Prior to this position, she led strong outcomes as a science and math teacher before transitioning to Grade Level Leader, Associate Dean, and Dean of School Culture for the past three years. She is also currently part of our Principal in Residence program.

  Angie is a builder of equity-centered systems. She knows and deeply believes in all students, especially those who may need the most support. Across many areas of impact, from attendance to academic intervention to strong and inclusive classroom environments, she lives equity every day in how she leads and operationalizes her vision. In doing so, she models and supports all adults in setting high standards as educators.

  From chronic absenteeism levels that are among the lowest in our organization to growing math mock outcomes +15 year over year and ELA outcomes +13% year over year, Angie’s combination of care, belief, skill, and high expectations creates powerful impact in the community she serves. As a proud Providence resident, she is deeply excited to found Achievement First’s newest Rhode Island school and continue ensuring our diverse learners realize their brilliance.
