Before New Haven, there was New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and El Salvador. But for more than 15 years, Amistad Academy has been a second home to Roxana. She came to AF for the mission and stayed for the movement. First an ELA teacher, then a dean, she has loved the chance to help students dive into reading and fight for equity and justice. Although much has changed since she first came through our doors in 2001, her belief in kids, families and teachers have been a constant. And she’s committed to changing the world—starting with our corner of it, right now.
