Students wearing caps and gowns in an auditorium

This just in: our students are receiving great news about early college applications! We are incredibly proud to share that 48 students from our senior class of 412 have earned early acceptance from top colleges across the country.

AF students only apply early if they’re sure of their dream school, so in December, 48 dreams came true! We had four students admitted early to Franklin & Marshall College, three admitted to Stanford University, three admitted to Yale University, three admitted to the University of Rochester, and others to Amherst, Carleton, Dartmouth, Harvard, Swarthmore, Scripps, Smith, and many more. This is our strongest year yet of early college admissions, and it shows the impact of our students’ hard work.

The complete list of colleges is below, and we also want to highlight a few specific students at this milestone moment.

Darius and his mom

First is Darius from AF Hartford High. He earned early acceptance to Boston College. If you’re wondering why he’s wearing a Wesleyan sweater, it’s because his sister—also an AF Hartford alum—applied early to Wesleyan a few years ago. She got into her dream school, so he wore this sweatshirt as a good luck charm. It worked!

Next is Monicque from AF Amistad High. She was accepted early to Franklin & Marshall College and filmed herself checking her application status. Check out the family pride in this video!

Finally, we have a new tradition from AF East Brooklyn High as they celebrate the acceptances of their first graduating class! Here you’ll see all seniors who have earned an early decision acceptance ringing a bell to share their news with the entire school community.
