Achievement First Achievement First

Whoever you are, wherever you come from, welcome home.

At Achievement First, diversity, equity, and inclusion aren’t just guidelines that sit in some employee handbook. They are a philosophy that we live and breathe. They’re at the center of new staff training and professional development sessions. You can see their influence in the decisions we make in every school and on every Network Support team.

Why? Because that’s the kind of organization we need to be. Not just to honor our duty to each other as human beings, but to honor our commitment to kids. We know that teachers and school leaders who share the backgrounds of our scholars can be especially critical in their lives. And we know our students are best served by a team that reflects the global community they’ll one day join.

Here, we are about diving into issues that can make us uncomfortable, because that’s how we get better. We’re about sensitivity and cultural competence. And about being the kind of organization where everyone—regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, age and sex—feels comfortable, powerful, and respected.
