Overview

Achievement First Crown Heights Middle School opened in Brooklyn in 2005 as one of the first two Achievement First schools in New York City. Achievement First Crown Heights Middle School balances fun and excitement with discipline, reflection and focus. Scholars earn prep points for completing their homework, for being on time to school in complete uniform and in many other ways. They can redeem their prep points at the "Prep Points Store" for fun school supplies, college paraphernalia and healthy snacks. Character development is paramount at Achievement First Crown Heights Middle School. An explicit ethics curriculum taught by homeroom teachers once a week supplements the daily reinforcement of our five core virtues: Courage, Compassion, Perseverance, Integrity and Respect. The school's strict discipline system holds scholars accountable, and enables a safe and productive learning environment. A daily recess program allows scholars a chance to sign up for numerous athletic, creative and academic activities, and is supplemented by numerous after-school activities. Achievement First Crown Heights Middle School’s outstanding teachers use rigorous and thoughtful instruction to prepare our scholars to succeed in high school, college and beyond.
