Overview

Achievement First Bushwick Elementary serves the largest Hispanic population in the Achievement First network. As a result, a substantial portion of the school’s leadership, operations and teaching staff is bilingual, and all materials sent home to parents are written in Spanish and English. The school celebrates the cultural heritage of students and families with a yearly multi-cultural showcase and potluck dinner. Like their cousins at other Achievement First elementary schools, Achievement First Bushwick Elementary scholars enjoy REACH Circle and a host of fun enrichment activities, including martial arts, drama club, dance club and chorus. The school has partnered with local arts organizations for lessons in music; the guitar club is funded through the Little Kids Rock Foundation and the Piano School provides lessons at a reduced rate.

School Leader

Stacey M. Park is the principal of Achievement First Bushwick Elementary School. She earned her B.A. in human development from the University of California, San Diego, and began her teaching career in 2001 at UCSD's Early Childhood Education Center. In 2003, Ms. Park joined Teach For America and taught first and second grades at Shields Elementary School in San Jose, California. In 2006, she became a proud founding teacher at Achievement First Bushwick Elementary School and served as the school's academic dean for three years. Ms. Park holds an Ed.M. in education leadership from Columbia University's Teachers College and is committed to preparing the Achievement First Bushwick Elementary scholars for college!
