Amistad Academy Elementary School Results
Amistad Academy Elementary School is accountable to the Connecticut State Department of Education for meeting student mastery standards. Therefore, similar to traditional public schools, Amistad Academy Elementary School students will take the Connecticut Mastery Test at the close of each school year beginning in third grade. We assess the progress of students in our lower grades through nationally normed tests, including the Fountas and Pinnell assessment, which tracks progress in reading fluency and comprehension.
The graph below compares the performance of Amistad Academy Elementary School fourth graders, our oldest students, on the 2011 Connecticut Mastery Test to the city and state mastery levels. Our fourth graders outperformed their New Haven peers by 21 percentage points and their state-wide peers by one percentage point.
