Achievement First: Many Minds, One Mission
Respect - Enthusiasm - Achievement - Citizenship - Hard Work - February 2011

Achievement First fully understands the importance of ensuring our scholars' success in all facets of their education, including state and national tests. Here are a few of the resources that our teachers use to help prepare our scholars for great results on these tests.

Achievement First is committed to constant growth and reflection for our teachers—and we want to share that learning with the broader education reform community. We have created an exciting new section of our website to share hundreds of proven classroom and professional development resources found in our 19 public charter schools. From elementary school lesson plans to high school math guides, these tools can help take your craft to the next level. The website goes live on February 11:

Calling All Rising Second-Year Teachers:
Become a Summer Teaching Resident

The Achievement First Summer Teaching Residency provides rising second-year educators with the opportunity to teach at a high-performing urban charter school in Connecticut or New York for the summer.

"My summer teaching residency experience was JUST what I needed after my first year of teaching. It was both energizing and inspiring. Working with third graders at Amistad Academy Elementary School reminded me that all of our students are capable of achieving great heights . . . that diligent planning and collaboration can drastically improve instruction . . . and that a learning community that values excellence, inquiry and rigor truly does have the potential to change students' lives. This year, I constantly draw upon the lessons and approaches that I learned at AF. I'm very grateful for the opportunity." - Brian Radley, 2010 Summer Teaching Resident
