Joe Pirro, a teacher at AF Crown Heights Elementary, writes about his experience at NBC's Education Nation:

“On September 26, I was lucky enough to attend NBC’s Teacher Town Hall as a part of its Education Nation week. Over the course of the two-hour taping, a number of educators from around the country spoke on topics such as teacher recruitment and retention, school funding, and the need to compete on a global level. While I certainly did not agree with all of the statements that were made, the town hall definitely opened up a conversation that our country needs to hold. During the taping, it was apparent that there are many views about the issues facing education in America, but this event kicked off a dialogue that I hope will continue long after NBC’s Education Nation is over.”
